Information

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy is a seven week program designed to give community members a “peek behind the badge.” The academy will provide classes on areas of Law Enforcement that the Chester County Sheriff’s Office uses on a daily basis. Immerse yourself in a unique learning experience with the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

The program is completely FREE and free food will be provided each week.

  • Dates: September 12th, 2023- October 24th, 2023

  • Times: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday.

  • Location: The first class of the Citizens Academy will take place at The Chester County Sheriff's Office, located at 2740 Dawson Drive, Chester 29706. Participants will receive information about the locations for subsequent classes in advance.

  • Limited Availability: A maximum of 20 individuals 18 years or older who live in Chester County may be accepted to the Citizens Academy.

  • Applications: An application must be completed. All potential applicants are subject to a background check.

Graduation

Upon completion of the Citizens Academy, all participants will be awarded a certificate as recognition of their dedication and commitment.

A graduation ceremony will be held during the final class to conclude the program.
